Dąbrówka Hill in Chechło offers the widest view of the Błędów Desert. From the platform at 355 m above sea level you look over several kilometres of open, treeless sand in the northern part of the desert. Entry is free and possible all year.

How to get to Dąbrówka
In Chechło follow the brown tourist road signs from ul. Kluczewska. It is a few minutes’ drive from Klucze, about 55 km from Kraków and 40 km from Katowice. The other viewpoints and public transport are covered on our page How to get to the Błędów Desert.
What to see
- Desert panorama – Dąbrówka shows the largest treeless stretch of sand; the most “desert-like” view in Poland.
- Military exercises – the area belongs to the army (6th Airborne Brigade). Sometimes you can watch exercises and parachute jumps from a distance.
- Traces of history – next to the platform are the ruins of a WWII bunker and the base of an old observation tower.
- Photography – best light in the early morning and before sunset.
Rules
Stay on the platform and marked paths. Do not go down onto the training ground – entry is prohibited and unexploded ordnance may be present. For a walk on the sand, choose Róża Wiatrów or Czubatka. See also our visitor rules.
